ABOUT ME

“Never stop being a good person because of bad people.”

I have been described as a happy ball of optimism – A creative force of enthusiasm – An adventurer on a continual quest for all things positive – A proud example of what can be achieved, despite the hand which was dealt early on.

Sound corny? – A little cheesy?… It’s okay… I’ll take it as a compliment.

While my odyssey on this beautiful blue marble was altered by tragedy, it lends evidence of how the weight of turmoil can be assuaged by the virtues of kindness, integrity, and a charitable disposition (they are my foundation). The fact I used those virtues as defensive armor only authenticates their resilient nature.

I know what it’s like to have the odds stacked against me… I know what it’s like to suffer the monsters in society – To grow up outside the system – To survive on the streets – To be viewed as “disposable.” … Most people didn’t hold out much hope for “the cheerful misfit,” and while that all may sound like a sad violin, the dire predictions of others did not stop me from achieving creative ambitions… I believe the reason was that I never allowed the cruelty in life to weigh upon my smile, my love for others, or dampen the childlike curiosity I hold for the world around me… Most importantly, I do not consider myself a ‘victim.’ I am a survivor, and I am not alone… I am a reflection of many, whose potential has been allowed to shine, or has yet to be discovered.

Those who know my story, understand why spreading happiness, and making people smile, are so important to me… I have found it is seldom about the destinations, and more about the adventures and colorful personalities one meets along the way.

Succeed, fail, stumble, or fly, I remain blessed to understand the meaning of the words “I am still here”.

And what a wonderful “here” that is.

If you’re alive, it isn’t.”
