OTHER INTERESTS

Life has always been different for me, and that’s a remarkable thing… Admittedly, I possess a child-like curiosity about the world around me. My ambitions are to experience new adventures and discover what I am capable of (or find out what my limitations are). Sometimes I stumble badly, and sometimes I succeed beyond every expectation. Whatever the case, life is a learning experience, where the rewards are rarely found in the destination, but in the journey (and all of the colorful personalities I meet along the way)… Here are just a few of the hobbies that add color to life upon this beautiful blue marble.

.

MOTORCYCLIN’ ADVENTURES: My bike is affectionately known as ‘The Burrito’, and we have explored all points far and wide. Our excursions have taken us to the nearby sights, as well as destinations thousands of miles away… A cure for a bad day, is to get our ‘mugs in the wind’.

SOME OF MY PAST ODD AND MEMORABLE VEHICLES

I am a very simple individual, and not drawn to material things, just to impress… Basically, this means that if a vehicle catches my eye, I will find a ‘junker’ and do all of the restoration myself. Here are a few examples of vehicles I saved from the scrapper.

.

THE BD-200 PROTOTYPE:

I first saw this vehicle in an old ‘Popular Mechanics’ magazine.

In 2000, I bought the remains of the actual BD-200 prototype (the one in the above ad), which had been underwater due to a flood… I took it around to many reputable restorers who considered it a basket case and beyond repair…

Beyond repair?…………… I took that as a challenge.

I dared to dream and held onto the notion of “nothing is impossible”… With virtually no wind drag, the result was a pure adrenaline rush at speeds over 140.

.

How about a 1953 MG REPLICA?

Another castaway car, but I saw the potential and eventually got it back on the road in all its glory. Lots of body work – Sculpted new British crest insignia – Custom leather hood strap, Installed new engine – Gutted and replaced interior, dash, and all electrical… I caller her “Meg.”

.

OR AN OLD CORVETTE?

It was an “Endless Summer” when I found this vehicle, literally falling apart just sitting in place. Took it to our home in San Clemente and after some major fiberglass work, frame repair, and replacing the entire interior, this old ‘candy-apple-red’ beauty was catching eyes again.
